BRIDAL SKINCARE ROUTINE
Great makeup can be a good fix, but that natural bridal glow makes all the difference, and, of course, makes the photographer’s job so much easier. After all, bridal skincare requires you to go beyond your regular skincare routine.
Step #1. Remove dirt and oil
Always remove the dirt and oil even if you don’t have any makeup or any skincare on your face. I recommend buying Sulfate-free cleansers, they do not dry out your skin and do a good job of getting rid of any excess oil or grime that may have settled into your skin pores.
Bonus Tip - Use face brush: It is super affordable and easy to use, it helps get into those areas where your fingers cannot. When you’re finished cleaning use warm water to wash your face and pat dry. Also, keep your skin cool, a cold rinse throughout the day can do wonders.
Step #2. Tone your skin
Use it to balance the skin’s pH levels. Put a few drops of the toner on a cotton pad. Apply it all over the face and neck. Never rub your face while applying the toner, always pat it out.
Note - Use a toner right after cleansing when the skin is still damp during your morning and evening skincare routines for better penetration of ingredients. Limit its use to once per day if your skin feels too dry.
Step #3. Apply Serum
Apply a thin layer of serum of your choice (pea-sized amount) and massage onto the skin until fully absorbed. Serums target specific skin issues like dehydration, uneven skin tone, redness, sensitivity, dark spots, and clogged pores.
Step #4. Moisturize
Using moisturizer two times a day is vital—even if you have oily skin. Yes, really! It protects your skin from the elements and keeps it hydrated.
Note - Applying moisturizer to damp skin helps trap more water in your skin. Also, damp skin absorbs products better.
Step #5. Pat on an eye cream
The skin around our eyes is more fragile, prone to dryness, and quicker to show age and fatigue. Eye creams can tighten and hydrate the skin while treating common skin concerns. Avoid applying cream too close to your eyelashes. Pat the product into your skin. Avoid dragging or rubbing. Wait 2 minutes to let the cream fully absorb.
Step #6. Apply SPF
If you’re heading out into the sun, don’t forget to layer sunscreen on top. The absolute bare minimum SPF you need on your face is SPF 30.
Note - Stick to products that do not have too many ingredients and are fragrance-free. Buy in small quantities to try which product suits you the best.

Step #7. Use a lip balm
Using lip balm, preferably one with a high SPF can help in lightening dark lips. Lip balms also keep the lips moisturized, preventing them from darkening further.
